Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Lucid Mail is an iPhone mail app for Gmail, made by Bomgom. This policy explains what the app uses, where it goes and how to delete it.
In short: your mail stays between your iPhone and Google. Lucid Mail’s server never receives your mail, your Google account, your email address or your sign-in.
What the app accesses in your Google account
When you sign in with Google, you allow Lucid Mail to read, compose, send and organize your Gmail (the gmail.modify permission), and to see your email address, name and profile picture.
The app on your iPhone uses this access to:
- Download your messages, attachments, labels and drafts, and keep them in sync with Gmail.
- Show, search and sort your mail.
- Do what you ask: send, reply, forward, save drafts, archive, move to Trash, mark as spam, mark as read or unread, star and change labels.
Lucid Mail can’t permanently delete mail. Mail moved to Trash can be recovered in Gmail. The AI only suggests mail to clean up; nothing moves until you tap Clean up.
Where your data is kept
- Your mail, drafts, search index, the AI’s suggestions and your preferences are stored in the app’s protected storage on your iPhone.
- Your Google sign-in is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain. The app uses it to talk to Gmail directly.
- None of this is sent to Lucid Mail’s server.
AI on your iPhone
The AI that sorts your mail runs on your iPhone. Your mail is never sent anywhere to be analyzed, and what the app learns from your choices stays on the device.
The model is downloaded once from Hugging Face. Like any download, that request shows your IP address to Hugging Face. It contains none of your data.
Your Google data is never used to develop, improve or train AI or machine learning models beyond the personalization that happens on your own iPhone. No person reads your mail.
What Lucid Mail’s server keeps
To check for new mail in the background, the app registers your iPhone with Lucid Mail’s server, which runs on Google Cloud (Firebase) in the United States. Up to three times an hour, the server sends your iPhone a silent signal through Apple’s push service, and your iPhone then checks Gmail itself.
The server keeps only your iPhone’s push token (encrypted), a random installation ID and when the next signal is due. It has no Google account, email address or mail.
This registration is removed when you turn off Background mail refresh or remove all accounts, and automatically when Apple reports the token is no longer valid, for example after you delete the app.
Other connections
- Google: Gmail and Google Sign-In.
- Sender logos: if this setting is on, the app asks Google’s icon service for the icon of a sender’s web domain, such as example.com. Senders are never contacted.
- Remote images: images in a message load from the sender’s servers only when you allow them. Those servers can then see your IP address and that the message was opened.
- Apple: notifications and background signals are delivered through Apple Push Notification service.
What we don’t do
- No ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone.
- We don’t transfer Google user data to others, except when you ask the app to send mail through Gmail, or when the law requires it.
Google API Services
Lucid Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
- Remove an account: in Lucid Mail, open Settings, choose the account and tap Remove account. Its mail and data are removed from your iPhone and its sign-in is revoked at Google. Your mail stays in Gmail.
- Delete the app: removes everything the app stored on your iPhone.
- Revoke access at any time on Google’s Third-party apps & services page.
- Ask us: write to support@bomgom.com and we’ll delete anything the server keeps for your iPhone.
Children
Lucid Mail is not directed to children under 14.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that affects how your Google data is used will be shown in the app before it takes effect.
